| 1 Wearing support hose, watching your weight gain, and elevating your feet can reduce swelling (edema) that can occur with pregnancy. |
2 The rest of baby's face begins to form. The tail has disappeared and the head makes up about half of baby's size. |
3 Your heart is pumping more blood right now. This is providing more oxygen for your baby. This can make you feel energetic and tired at the same time. You also may feel warmer and perspire more. |
4 As your pregnancy continues, it is normal to have a whitish vaginal discharge called leukorrhea. |
5 Nausea gets better (yeah right -- but it really is supposed to). The triple-test, when deemed necessary is normally done between week 15 and 18. |
6 Lunar Month 5, 16 wks LMP (14 wks gestation) Remember to avoid x-rays when you're pregnant. Baby weighs 3.53 ounces or 100 grams. Baby is 4.57 inches or 11.6 cm long |
|
| 7 The baby's ears and eyes have moved to their final positions look more "normal" by now. |
8 Sleeping and resting on your left side increases circulation to your baby and the rest of your body too. The chance of miscarriage gets much lower after this week too. |
9 | 10 Don't tire yourself out with over-doing exercise, cleaning, or working. Exhaustion is not healthy for you or the baby. The key is everything in moderation. |
11 | 12 You can feel your uterus just below your belly button now. It should be the size of a cantaloupe or a little bigger now. |

| 14 Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are one of the most frequent problems that occur in pregnancy. Symptoms include painful urination, urgency, and frequent urination. Drink plenty of fluids and empty your bladder often to help prevent UTIs from occurring. |
15 The baby is beginning to accumulate a little fat now. It's important still to eat balanced, nutritious meals to meet your energy needs as well as the baby's needs for development. |
16 You may be tested for Strep B between now and the end of pregnancy. This is a normal precaution and Strep is easily treated with antibiotics during labor to protect your baby. |

|
18 You might start feeling Braxton Hicks contractions. These are not the real thing, just your body getting ready. If you go into premature labor, contact your provider immediately. |

| 21 | 22 | 23 What was I doing? Forgetfulness is a common occurrence in pregnancy. Try making lists to remind yourself of your tasks. This is normal and that the tension it causes usually just makes it worse. Take that deep breath and chalk it up to baby-making. |
24 If you haven't felt movement yet, remember it varies from woman to woman. |
25 | 26 Now is the time for an AFP screening if you want one. |
